Joseph,

I would recommend a simple bathroom cleaner like "Lysol Basin, Tub, and
Tile Cleaner" for the painted inner fender (er, wing) parts under the hood
(er, bonnet).  And "Gunk" for the engine.  Then go to the local coin
operated car wash and hose the slime off with the engine cleaner selection
followed by the rinse selection.  Seems to work fine for me.  Several
friends say they have never seen a cleaner engine.  (However, not to be
confused with a "trailer Queen" engine compartment - my method won't do
that.  Don't understand why people have "trailer Queens" anyway.  I'd
rather drive then have an unusable coffee table.)
