Mike et al,
I've sandblasted oodles of wires with nary a problem. It does however show
up a weak or pitted spoke before it breaks. Can you say "preventative
maintenance"?
I seal the inside of the hub with silicone to prevent grease migrating up
the spokes, then paint them with Aluminum / silver paint then coat them with
two or three coats of clear coat. They don't last forever but they do look
great for quite a while.
CAUTION - Personal opinion follows!
IMHO Nothing looks as good as original silver wires on an
MG...............any MG!
