Thanks to everyone who replied to my mail the other week about my Fuel Pump,
you were all correct I had not set the points at all. Well I took the pump
off again, fiddled about with it, put it back and (with a new battery as
well) it worked.
Now all I've got to do is refurbish the SU Carbs that have a tendancy to
let off strong wafts of fumes when idling or in traffic jams, and that
don't return to idle very well either (they need a blip of the throttle
to encourage them!)
Oh, and I've got to replace the hood so that I don't get so much wind on
the back of my head though the rear quarters, when it's up.
Oh, and it needs a bloody good clean and polish and probably some touching
up (don't we all).
Oh, and I've got to tax it this month.
Oh, and before all of that I really ought to replace the braking system so
that it stops properly and I don't have to replace the front wings, bonnet,
valence, grill, etc., etc.
Oh, isn't classic car ownership a wonderful hobby!!!
