My brother did this to his (first) TR4. Seemed to work peachy, except for
one problem. Every time he used anything else electrical, the radio would
briefly cut out. We never did figure out how to fix this before he totaled
the car <weep!>. Best guess was that the converter was defective, or his
radio overpowered it. YMMV.
