In fact, people can perceive CHANGES in sound above 18kHz, though they do 
not actually hear sounds above 18-20kHz.  Not to start a weird thread, 
but it PARTLY explains why people hear differences in vacuum tube 
amplifiers vs. solid state.

actually, to pick a nit, few people can hear below 25hz or above 16k

exceptional people - 18k
