Neil,

If you have the "older style crimped connection threaded banjo fittings" that
you are trying to use on your fuel pump and want to convert to flexible hoses,
simply go to a really good hardware store (Sargents, in Brockton, MA is an
example) and buy a pair of brass female threaded by male barbed 5/16" hose
fittings for about $3 total and you will be all set.  I suggest that you bring
one of the banjo fittings and a short piece of hose into your hardware store
with you and explain what you are trying to do and also to get the sizing
correct.

Neil:

     Get the fittings off a scrap late model MGB.  The one with the pump
mounted in the trunk.  It uses regular rubber lines pushed onto banjos,
rather than the threaded connectors to banjo used on the early cars.
