I put in the Moss third brake light rather than going to brighter bulbs.
Maybe a relay is required in this case too? Do you remember which TSO it
was in?
Thanks,
SCott

Another thought: Thinking back to a recent article about putting a relay
into the brake electrics to take some of the load off the switch, by any
chance did you replace your brake bulbs with higher ampere bulbs during the
resto? Maybe fried the contacts with too much load?

PS. I'm planning to install that relay.

Scott,
One little thing that tends to get overlooked -- the brake light line is
only powered when the ignition switch is on. It's one of the green
wires attached to terminal A4 of the fuse block. Others are the
screenwiper, petrol warning light and turn signals.
