I like the round bottom shape because it reduces the shear problem. Shear
can be largely avoided by putting the body very close to the surface also.
The flat bottom car can also make effective use of ground effects but any
downforce increases drag...... Both are effective.

The round shape has proven difficult to build due to many round or
cylindrical things that must be built to go inside....space is a premium in
any shape car due to small frontal area requirements.

Choices, choices....really makes it fun!!
