Keith, I think the usual way was to mount a felt bob in a drill press (mill
is a lot better), and put grinding compound under it and make a swirl. Then
move over and the next one overlaps. With a mill, you just crank the table
over a certain amount. I believe Dave was refering to brushed aluminum.
