If you can get one, the best ones are probably the aerospace mag-plugs.
These come with their own housing which seals the hole and thus the plug can
be removed without spilling oil. A good trick if you can get a second plug
(without a housing) is to drill its centre out and fit a plastic pipe - then
to change the oil just remove the solid plug, put in the hollow one, and out
comes the oil - and no mess!!
