john - thanks for your input - your thoughts on the frame issue are well
received. yes , the spoiler is at the maximum chord dimension of 10
inches as stated in the rules, and the leading edge of it is ahead of the
trailing edge of the trunklid. so thats ok (as i read the rules) , i guess
i look at it as the spoiler issue boils down to a difference in
interpretations of "surface" , as i would call a basic cube shape having 6
sides but only one surface - really, any shape has only one surface if you
stop and think about it. i naturally assumed that one surface was
interpreted the way NHRA drag racing interprets it - wouldnt you if this
was your first land speed ride after dragging the same car? and WOW
!!!!!!- the statement that comp coupe - which is in the same modified
category as altered - gets more "lee way" when we both must comply to the
same rules on these two items hits hard, real hard. -that is not right.
THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN SPOILER OR "CHINE" APPLICABILITY BETWEEN THES TWO
CLASSES.- COULD ANYBODY ON THIS FORUM PLEASE SHOW ME WHERE IN THE SCTA
RULES - ANYWHERE - WRITTEN - UNWRITTEN - PAST- PRESENT - THAT THIS IS TRUE
???- PLEASE. i think if smokey yunik ever built an altered for land speed
racing exactly per those scta written rules, he would blow so many holes in
that rulebook that it would make anyones head spin. if scta wrote these
rules to be not too restrictive as i have heard so many times , then why
are they so oppositly restrictive when someone realistically interprets one
word differently while fully complying with them, and its the same exact
way a major drag racing santioning body interprets it also. sorry- but i
dont think im out of line on these two items.
this wasnt targeted at just you john, i guess i just got up on the
governor, im cool now- thanks again for your view- most appreciated
positive regards to all, i mean no disrespect to ANYONE in case anyone took
it that way - ok ?
