I have had success using distilled white vinegar. I cleaned out a 3000 =
tank a few years back. After that I put it in service without any kind =
of internal coating. =20
I am currently in the process of cleaning out a rusty 100 tank. It =
doesn=E2=80=99t happen over night. I put in gallon or two with a few =
tablespoons of salt. Leave it sit for a week or two then rotate the =
tank to its side or wherever there is rust. Dump it out and put in =
another gallon or so. I have been doing this for a couple of months now =
and have gone through around six or seven gallons. It=E2=80=99s very =
effective and cheap if you are not in a hurry. It just depends on how =
rusty the tank is.
