<div>Al- I had the best luck with Monk brand vinegar-2 gallons worth per =
tank-sloshed and distilled overnight. One tank on a Jensen GT was so full =
of sludge-a full tank of gas must have been in it when stored- that one =
took a week of soaking in vinegar to get it cleared out. I tried some =
commercial-expensive cleaners- but good old store bought vinegar seemed to =
do the best job. You wont get it all out if really bad but it should get =
most of the crud removed and make the tank ready for a coating.&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>I bought a kit from Moss to slosh it and another =
time from Eastwood and found the one made by Rustoleum to be the best =
coating. HOWEVER, be aware that sloshing a coating can plug the fine screen=
at the outlet of the tank so remove the sender and reach in and wrap the =
outlet to prevent coating it. I think I slipped a rubber hose over the unit=
. It's a messy job and when you slosh, you need to work quick rotating the =
tank to cover as much of each side as you can. Probably not enough stuff to=
get the top of the tank but you can do the bottom and sides in that =
time-which are most important. Hank<br>-------------------- <br><br>From: =

<div>I am in the process of reviving a car that has sat for several years. =
The gas tank was partially full of old gas, which when pumped out brought =
out a lot of rust. As such,&nbsp;I am thinking I will be needing to clean =
out and restore the inside of this tank.</div>

<div>Do any of you have experience with any of the gas tank restoration =
kits on the market? If so, please share your experience of using it and how=
 it performed over time.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>I'm sure others will =
offer other opinions, such as 'just use muriatic acid', 'just use vinegar',=
'just use Coca-Cola', etc... - So, I'll bite: If you have actually used =
something other than a commercial kit, please share those experiences, too!=
