Let me suggest changing out the Pertronix coil with a gold Lucas Sport Coi=
l, 3 ohms resistance. Pertronix has had a few coil failures--including mine=
, which failed on my Healey 100. And especially with the Pertronix ignition=
, be sure your grounds are all good and battery connections secure, as a ba=
d ground will blow the module on these.=C2=A0

Does it do it only in summer type warm weather ?
If so, I?d say vapor lock of fuel system.
Happens to me in the summer and predicted to happen when water temp on my i=
nstruments hit 200 degrees when stopped. Although I have wrapped insulation=
around the lines leading to the carbs close to the manifold which helped b=
ut has not cured the issue. I do have a heat shield but haven?t installed i=

So my cure is not to drive on hot days.

With all due respects Tom this sounds like the perfect situation where my
favorite adage applies.
"*Diagnosis BEFORE repair"*.
The repair system, usually adhered to in dealerships,=C2=A0 of "throw parts=
at
it until the problem is resolved" is the corolary of that process.
Some questions:
1. When the engine stops have you check for spark at a plug lead?
2. When the engine stops have you checked for fuel delivery at the
carburetors?
3. When you attempt a restart does the cranking sound normal?
4. Does the engine restart after everything cools down?
Almost certainly you will get the wrong answer to one of the above
questions (very unlikely more than one) and then you have something to
direct your attention to.

Sounds like a faulty coil or a bad/broken wire somewhere. Also check the=20
engine earth strap and battery switch and connections. What coil have=20
you fitted. If the ballast resistor (wire) is still in place it should=20
be a 12V ca. 1,5 Ohm coil to be used with a resistor or a 12V ca. 3Ohm=20
coil to be used without resistor.

Sounds like you have checked everything on the ignition system. Could be fu=
el related. What do the spark plugs look like? If the ceramic is black then=
too rich if white then too lean. Lastly there is the ground wire that runs=
from the coil to the battery shutoff switch. Could the wire be grounding s=
omewhere? Try disconnecting it at the coil.

Subject: [Healeys] Overdrive relay.
I am putting a modern relay into my OD relay. Done it before with both the
8-way flasher box and the OD relay. Works well, though this one only manage=
d
+/-10 years. 10 years, but not so very many miles.
Anyhow..it's a really tight fit in there and I thought I might save some
space with thinner wires this time. What does the team think about the
ampage flowing around in there? Is there much and is it constant when the
car's in OD or is it just a short burst to activate the coil and energize
the solenoid? I'm thinking that bigger wires means less space (Harder to
bend into little spaces) and thinner wires means overheating and consequent
problems...

Due to unprecedented demand (actually only 4 kits) I have done another
run of these PCV kits.
https://precisionsportscar.com/austin-healey-100-engine-oil-leak-solution/
I've had positive responses from the folks that have installed them so
if anyone is struggling with oil leakage problems this is probably
worth a try.

Blocked air supply to tank would give these symptoms. I Have also had a bro=
