Most likely a new wiring harness will solve the problem, an inexpensive inv=
estment in money, if not in time to swap it out.

the stator tube which is inside the steering shaft which is inside the stee=
ring column) is damaged. The stator harness can be changed without actually=
 removing the stator tube, easier on your car with the adjustable steering =
