Worn rocker shaft would be my first guess. Remove the rocker cover, lay =
an old towel over it and secure it. Start the car and look under to see =
if any oil is shooting up from the cap bores, versus oozing out over the =
shaft. If so, worn shaft. If you don=E2=80=99t mind the possibility of =
oil on the underside of your bonnet, you can forego the towel.

Typical 6 cylinder Austin-Healey problem. Usually the rocker shaft is =
worn and oil is spread all over under the rocker cover. Rocker number 10 =
or 11 is directly under the ventilation and blows oil directly into it.
Problem solved by replacing the worn rocker shaft and new bushes for the =
rockers.=20
Let it done by a specialist, as it needs some Healey engine knowledge to =
do it right.

it every 1000 miles or so. So is it coming from Valve stem seals, valve =

oil pumping from the rocker arms. I plan to drive my car on a 3000 trip =
in Sept from Portland,OR to Deadwood, SD fro Conclave and thought I =
should address this before going.
