A fix I've seen described before is to use a short piece of copper tubing,
just large enough to fit over the stud, chucked in a drill motor like a hole
saw. This will supposedly cut through the rust and corrosion that is holding
the casting on the stud. I've never had the need to try it, but if you do
please let me know how (if)it worked.
