I have reached a milestone with the finishing of the installation of my new
soft top. Once I get the side screens ready I can truly say my BN7 is "fully
restored". Although living here in sunny southern California, I doubt I will
ever need to put the top up, I want the car to be complete and you never know
when a few rain clouds may show up on a long drive. I have been trying to fit
my new side screens (Moss). The hardware supplied with the new side screens
does not fit correctly so I have decided to reuse the original brackets. The
questions is what should the finish be on these brackets. The original finish
on the rear bracket appears to be just bright galvanized or badly rusted
chrome?? The original finish on the front brackets appears to be black paint.
I looked in the Concours Guide but there is no mention of the finish for these
brackets. As always, any help will be greatly appreciated.
