The early 'Vettes weren't much better, with an inline six (OK for Healeys ...
too little
engine for that car). They didn't sell well at all.
According to all I've heard, read and seen the original (55-57) T-Bird outsold
the
early 'Vettes by manyfold ... THEN they made it a four-seater boat and the rest
is, well, history.
