Don't forget, that is exactly what they did with the original T-Bird --
underpowered, too wide and too soft of a suspension. Trying to compete with
the newly issued Corvette and all of the LBC's made them think that there
was no market for an American sports car and they changed it into an
overblown boat instead of tweaking it to compete. They did the same thing
with the Mustang and over the years have done their best to kill it off
also.
