I'm told that the cam followers in a 100 engine can be
replaced with some sort of Buick lifter which is lighter, possibly straight

more about this?

Mike--

I'm not home now and cannot check for the exact specifications, but the first
owner of my car put in an Iskenderian 3/4 cam (the designation T-4 seems to
stick in my mind but I won't swear to that) and the "kit" that he received
from Iskenderian included Buick lifters and I think Studebaker pushrods. That
cam, along with the lifters and rods had been replaced by the time I got the
car
but I still have the parts. The tappets have a different configuration than
original and the pushrods were, in fact, slightly longer by about 1/4".
Interestingly I called Iskenderian which is still in business and spoke to the
son
of Ed telling him of this and he immediately remembered that it was a kit that
they commonly sold and maybe even still do.
