I just went through an SVRA tech inspection with my friend's MGB at Sebrin=
g last weekend. He has a vintage halon system, no SFI/FIA certification sti=
ckers on it. One push handle located next to the drivers set on the tranny =
hump, nothing outside the cockpit. He had no problem with the fire system. =
They did tell him his FIA, made in 2006, perfectly maintained suit was too =
old and needed to be replaced. They would let him run this time but he need=
ed a new one for the next event. They're using a 10 year limit on suits, ba=
sed on the newest (2023) FIA spec. SVRA tried to tell him everyone (SCCA et=
c) is doing the same thing, even for=C2=A0SFI=C2=A0suits.=C2=A0 FIA is only=

BTW, just 14 cars , including 2 Matias, started the weekend in the small bo=
re group, about 20 cars, including a couple of 10 yr old at best Mustangs=
=C2=A0made up the the big bore group.
SVRA is requiring all cars to have Flagtronic systems installed next year, =
according to a chat I had with their director of competition, Alex Miller.

The SVRA rules on fire systems are much more strict than SCCA and some of t=
