Good question. When I was doing IVR out at Wendover, every race weekend
you could count on at least 2 or 3 canopies getting trashed by the winds
that came screaming across the Salt Flats. Too bad one weekend it was
mine that was one of the casualties, one of the anchor straps tied to
the weight, 5 gallon water jug, came loose and it went for a couple
hundred foot flight. And lightweight, foldable lawn chairs also had a
very high mortality rate.
Ah yes, good old WINDover, Utah.
