<< ARP are ONCE ONLY use bolts >>
That's funny. The only one I ever had fail was a brand new one.
I had no idea they were intended for one use only. I use them many times over.
Actually, I think with the teensy little ARP 1/4" rod bolts that are used with
my Carrillo rods, the instructions said to use them until they don't come back
to original length after stretching. The recommended stretch at full torque
was 0.006" and if one started to yield and didn't come back to the original
length, then you replaced it - at $37 per bolt. I was changing rod bearings
every 3 weekends, and there was NO WAY I was spending $296 for new rod bolts
every 3 weekends.

Yep. That's it. Standard write up as per ARP. Only good for new bolts. ARP are
ONCE ONLY use bolts

Chuck,
Torque/stretch figures should come with the new bolts?

Subject: [Fot] ARP rod bolt torque
This was the hot oil thread. Tore engine down. Nothing in the sump. Checked all
bearings. All ok. Thrust washers ok, but little clearance.
Now need to torque the ARP rod bolts in the Pauter rods. Looking for help as to
what is the proper value.
Thanks,
Chuck
