Hey Chuck,
Glad your making progress.
The battery needs a metal mounting bracket and a sealed box; cheaper plastic
marine type or nice expensive alumininum one.
We are using an 925 Oddessy battery in both cars with no onboard charging.
I like it best mounted right behind the passenger seat for ease of charging and
away from all the fuel stuff in the back. The yellow car has the main kill
switch mounted at the rear of the passenger door and I like very much to be
able to turn it on and off from the drivers seat without any help.

P.S. Brian can make a you beautiful custom "FGR approved" fail proof aluminum
bracket if given simple battery measurements (we can make these for any car)

Friends -
Looking for the best battery option for the GT6 (race). I will be running a
lightweight 55amp alternator. I did not find anything very current in the
archives, so maybe new preferences have emerged. I know Optima has a good rep
(red/yellow?). Also, would like to see your mounting pics (email me directly
if attaching pics). I have conflicting info as to whether to use a closed
battery box or if mounting brackets are sufficient. Mine will mount in rear
near fuel cell.
Thanks,
Chuck Watson
