I too have destroyed a gearbox or two from Quantum...
I did talk to Ric Cline today (thanks Bob Davis for referencing) and he's THE
MAN that raced the GT6's in SCCA... He stated he had better luck with the GT6
gearbox but he always 'double clutched'... even stated he went through several
TR4-6 tranny's and the GT6 box was better... I haven't been so fortunate even
though I'm not running hard..
John @ Quantum is building me a TR6 gearbox with close ratio gears for my
GT6... he has honored every problem I've had with his stuff but maaaaaan.....
can I get a gearbox that will last,,,,, the world may never know,,, (don't
mind the Toyota T-50 in my car right now)

John at Quantum Mechanics has built GT6 boxes with TR7 gears, better
bushings, etc.
he claims they are sturdier construction than a stock GT6 box, though
I still managed to destroy one.

There is a way to use the gears inside a Spitfire gearbox utilizing
the Spitfire input shaft I'd sure like to hear about it as well.
Using a TR7 gearbox is high on the list of things to do to Susan's
spitfire.
