I've not heard that. My engine builder (who's also a Spitfire racer) swears 
by the synthetic. He's who got me on it. I was using Valvoline Racing 
(mineral), then DuraBlend. He got me to full synthetic. But I still have 
Valvoline Racing on the shelf for break-ins.
