I have dealt with this many times including hoards of Minis and my ex-GT6
and Spitfire.
Take it out and turn it face down on a block of wood. Use you drill press or
even a hand drill and drill a bunch of holes from the back side. You will get
rough holes with burrs sticking up ward that give a nice aggressive grip to
your shoe.
I think a dull bit works better than a new one. You don't want a clean hole.
5/16" is about the right size.
