There are no borders (well, each state has a border, but there are no checks
or checkpoints from state to state) that would make any difference, once the
car is registered. I can drive from my home in Ohio to any other state
without stopping (except for gas) and it makes no difference where I am or
where I am going. The only checks would be if I were to go into another
country (Canada or Mexico). Remember, the United States is really huge. I
live in NW Ohio, pretty much at the top of the country and my brother lives
in northern Florida. It is about 1000 miles to his house and takes me about
18 hours to drive there. I stop twice for gas in that distance.
