axel conversion

I have just recieved a request from Steve Adams (#55 spit from england that
raced with us at mid ohio)..... he is looking for info on an upgrade for  the
rear spit axel.... seems he is making a habbit of losing them.
  I am not happy with what I have on my late model spit either.  If anyone has
info on this (similar to the southwick conversion maybe???) please let me know
