I've seen pics of two; one a racer. Lotsa work and hood clearance issues.
What does "enough torque I'm looking for" mean? You don't say whether you have
a R16 or U20 nor whether you've even driven a stock engine.
Pete Brock and John Morton did okay with 'em.

I think have heard of once instance of a 240Z motor being put into a
roadster, with great difficulty. Most people have opted for KA24 or SR20DE
motors.
There are several potential swaps discussed on the 311s.org site.
