Very good advice from Keith. I just put a U20 in a 69 and I hit the
throttle cable bracket with the head and bent it (the bracket)...I didn't
notice until I drove it and the throttle stuck at 2500 rpms. I diddled
around with the carb end of the throttle cable thinking there wasn't enough
slack for an hour or two, 3 or 4 test drives with no joy until I decide to
compare the set up to another car and then it was obvious I had bent the
bracket.
So, hard learned advice - get a mental picture of the bracket before you put
the engine in and confirm that it is in the same shape after the engine is
back in (unless you have another car to compare) because the damage is not
that easy to detect...until the throttle sticks on the expressway at 2500
rpms.

hi dana, those are good pics, keith sent. another tip for making the header
clear a little easier : cut off or bend down a corner of the driver's side
motor mt. pad.(the rear corner, as it allows the header to clear without
jamming the rear of the head against the throttle linkage and firewall).
best of luck, bob smith, srl311
