Ken,
Have it all together. It is very painful to try to get the other bit
on after
the engine is in.
I think that the bolts on the starter can get
about a 32nd of turn due to all
the engine/frame restrictions.
I thought
that someone had a nice write up of the steps getting the engine
in/out.

All of the above, I
think. I can't remember whether I had the starter on
the car when I put the
engine back into my '67-1/2 2000 a couple of years
ago, but I'm pretty sure I
did. The carbs, exhaust manifold and oil pan
were all definitely in place.
