What is the rear carb inlet supposed to look like? I thought they were the
same.

I had similar problem on my 70 1600. I had just put some new Ztherapy carbs
on
the car. Turned out I had wrong fuel inlet on my rear carb. Just a tube inlet
like the front carb inlet. I changed it to correct inlet and problem was
solved. At high speeds or going up hills fuel just went right on past carb
and
circulated back to tank. Engine would stutter, I'd stopB and it would take
about 30 seconds to recover.

I finally got my 66 roadster on the road after quite a bit of work.
I'm having a problem I haven't been able to figure out.
It runs fine at idle and driving around at low rpms, but when I drive at high
rpms, it quickly starts to sputter, and then immediately afterwards sputters
at the low rpms. It recovers after about 30 seconds and then runs fine again
at low rpms.
I thought it was a fuel problem at 1st. I checked fuel pump, floats and carb
adjustment with no change. Then thinking electrical. Changed spark plug
wires,
double checked points and timing and no change. I don't know of any elect.
issue that would cause it to sputter at high rpms and then still run bad at
low rpms and then recover after 30 seconds, but I don't know everything.
I did just think that there could be some fuel blockage between one of the
float bowls and the carb.--I'm going to check that now.
