<At 650 rpms my alt wouldn't charge enough at night >
Another valid point on the U20's. At 7000 rpm the alternator is turning close
to 14000. By limiting the top speed of the alternator they won't charge at a
low idle.

Although I was able to get it to idle at 650 or so it was still fairly
rough
and would sometimes die out on hard stops so I just brought up the idle
speed.
At 650 rpms my alt wouldn't charge enough at night which was another reason
I like a higher idle.
