Hello Pete,
You can buy a turnkey 67.5 2000 if you're willing to mortgage the ranch. If
you search real hard, you might get a good deal on one, and if you do, it
will probably go up in value faster than any other Datsun.
However, if you want a good, dependable driver, which will go up in value
next fastest, buy a low-windshield 1600. Here in Northern California, you
can probably find a complete, running, low windshield 1600 for $1000 and up,
a 'freshened' one for $2000 and up, and a restored one for $3000 and way up.
The Parrish rounded hard top is very desirable, relative to the common
square ones, but I don't know if they made the round ones for the high
windshield cars.
And there's nothing wrong with the high windshield cars, as long as their
smog systems have been either maintained properly, or removed altogether
and the engine re-tuned to run right without it.
Hope that helped,
Mark in Modesto
