Dave,
Do you know the sound the timing chain makes when it you start an engine
that's been sitting for a long time? Is the back side of the Evil L getting
chewed up? Another idea is an exhaust leak. They can sound pretty tinny
sometimes. Sometimes if the holes for the smog injectors have not been
plugged properly I have heard cars make a chirping sound.
