Florida allows Year of Manufacture plates for cars older than (I believe) 
73.  The year may be wrong, but I know that all of the Roadsters are 
eligible for the yom plates.  The big plus is that there appears to be a 
HUGE supply of NOS plates available at car shows (like the Turkey Rod Run - 
just another excuse to attend all!)  for reasonable prices ($15 - 30).  The 
Florida plates of the roadster era were assigned based on vehicle 
size/weight.  Since the current plates do not follow that practice, the yom 
law for Florida will allow any full sized plate for the correct year to be 
used (Mobile Home plates are OK for cars, but motorcycle plates are not for 
example)  This expands the pool of available plates.

I have a 65 plate (year of my title for the 64) and a 67 plate already in 
the closet - just waiting....
