Hi Everyone,
I've been lurking on the list for quite awhile. But I've finally started work
on my Fairlady again. I've been pulling parts out of moving boxes for the last
2 days. I've moved twice in the last year and haven't touched the Fairlady in
about 2 years.
My car was in the middle of a frame-off (read completely disassembled) when
the move came about. I was in the new location when the movers came to pack
the house up, Fairlady included, so I couldn't supervise the packing. Well,
you all know how careful movers are. I guess I should be grateful that they
moved it at all, most moving companies won't move that sort of stuff.
I had everything in boxes seperated and bagged..........................and
they threw it all in 3 big moving boxes. This gives me the ultimate jigsaw
puzzle. Some of the stuff is still bagged and labeled, but I didn't label as
much as I thought....and I'm willing to bet I didn't take as many digital
photos as I thought also.
Now comes the difficult part, putting it all back together. I've been in the
new house for about 6 months now, but am just getting started on it because I
had a deposit on a new M3. But with a new baby on the way (our first), the
wife said I can only have one toy car....so I chose the Fairlady. Believe it
or not, one of the things that made me decide to keep the Fairlady was the
people on this list. I have been reading the M3 BB and let's just say that
working in the automotive industry, we have a technical term for most of the
people on that BB-----squirrels. Everyone on this list seems to be helpful and
knowledgeable.
I'm sure I'll be posting more frequently now with questions like "what is
this?.....where does this thing go?", so please bear with me. Thanks for
letting me take up some bandwidth.
