>(1) I have a new valve cover gasket for my 2L. Should I use RTV in between
the
cover and gasket (in the groove)?
I have, but it doesn't seem necessary. It seals fine without anything
>(2) I am having trouble finding small enough fuel line to replace the line
between the floats and the jets. Everything is too thick and stiff. Any
suggestions for non-fuel line that can handle gas?
Don't use anything but this specific line. It's available from all our
vendors. If you call them and for some far-fetched reason they don't have
it, you'll find the line at ZThreapy, Motorsports Auto, Moss Motors, or Vic
Brit. BUT! Note, The lines differ from year to year in that they can come
off the float bowl at different angles. You would not want to buy a line
that was too short, your chokes will bind. This is why "Vendors First" is
the best policy. They WILL sell you the right one, first try.
>(3) I have never bled a clutch before, and I haven't yet looked underneath
to see if I can bleed it from below. None of my books mention clutch
hydraulics. Can anyone offer
pointers before I dive in?
Bleed the master cylinder first by loosening the line fitting while a friend
depresses the pedal. Then, from under the car, use the bleeder valve on the
slave, just like a brake bleed.
