510 alternator?

Greetings y'all.. 

  Say, whatever happened to our archive? I was using eScribe, but there's
no entries after Mar 2001!! The reason being... 

  My alt seized yesterday and I am in need of a quick, cheap fix. Will a
510 alt work? Found an Autozone w/ one for $24. Seems like I'd heard somebody 
here mention a 510 35A alt would work? Is the wiring/plug the same?
