I read and re-read your posts, and something feels uncomfortable about your
situation.
Are you sure your Panasports are mated properly to the rotor hub? That
there isn't a poor interference fit, causing a wobble in the wheel? If so,
that can cause uneven wear on the bearings, and cause stress on the lugs
and nuts. I'm told that some Panasports don't mate well so the inner hub
and the rotor hub have to be ground to get a good fit.
I don't know much about this, and suggest you check and discuss this with one of
the experts (one I know of is Dennis Currington at CDM). Just going by what I
heard.

OK. So now I feel comfortable that I finally have the right lug
nuts for the 14 x 7 panasports. (7/16 thread, 13/16 head). So I put the
suckers back on for the fourth time this weekend to see if the wobble has
lessened. It seems as though there is a noise coming from the front end I
hadn't noticed before, so I pull over to take a look. It appears that the
inside rim of the wheel MAY be rubbing on my brake line on the passenger
side. Assuming this to be a bad thing, I go back home and crawl under to
take a look. The driver's side seems to have adequate brake line
clearance, but the drivers side is either just barely touching the line,
or just barely missing the line. I assume that there is probably some
moving around that takes place during spirited driving, and therefore, I
should have SOME clearance there. So the question is, since this brake
line has a bit of give to it, can I simply bend it slightly out of the
way, or will I royally screw my brake hydraulic system up? These wheels
by the way are 14JJ7 something, which I now believe to be 14x7 with a 10mm
offset (J is the tenth letter in the alphabet). If I had a 0 offset,
which is what I thought the group said I should have, they would be up
against my brake lines, which would suggest you can't run a 7" wheel with
10 offset up front. However, if I had a 0 offset, I would most likely
have problems with rubbing in the back (I don't now), and lord knows what
up front. Although, with the wider front flare, perhaps that wouldn't be
much of a problem.
Comments? Solutions? Words of warning? Fan mail from a flounder ??
