Interesting. I run 14x7 American rims and saw the same interference you
describe, on the passenger side brake line, though only after a spirited
day of autocrossing. (Says something about the degree of loaded flex in
front end, spindles, wheels, combined.)
Since the metal brake lines and balance pipes are to some degree
flexible, and indeed may be bend when installed, I moved the line (just
enough) out of the way and have has no further problems of the sort. No
impact on braking effectiveness, either.
