Rob,

The problem with Miatae is that they are very sensitive to out-of-round
tires, incorrect wheels (wrong offset or not hub centric) and other
problems. Personally I never had a problem but I did have that problem on a
260 I owned and a 240.

There's a place not too far from my house that puts the tires w/wheels on a
lathe and trues them. They also shave tires for racing. I have gone there
several times to have tires trued and you can't believe how out-of-round
many tires are.  It is not confined to one brand also. I have had several
different brands on my cars and they were all out of round to varying
degrees. Truing the tires makes a big difference also in the ride even when
everything feels OK.

Nothing really seems to bother a Roadster however but I did have my tires
trued anyway and there was a slight but perceptable difference.
