Not to be mean but . . . better you than me w/50" of snow. In NYC it
would spell disaster on the roads. People around here can't drive when
the roads are dry or even wet, I can't imagine all the accidents if
there was snow on the ground.

At this point, several have responded to your note (below) about
when they use the choke, but none have pointed out a potential
problem that shows up in your post.
In our '68 1600, the choke knob is NOT located below the headlight
knob. The choke is located on the console to the right of the radio.
It has a T-handle, and a gentle clockwise twist locks it in any
pulled-out position.
Experts on the list can advise about the location of the choke knob
on your 2000 if it's different than this. (Yo! Experts! That was
your cue!)
I don't want to hear about mere cold: we've now gotten 50+ inches of
snowfall (altho last year it was 110 inches at this date). The roadster
is garaged, and the 91 Nissan 4wd pickup is the daily driver.
