Hi,

I own 2 67.5 1600s.  There is no recess on either bumper, the license plate
light sits on top of the rear bumper on both cars.

It is my understanding that the recessed license plate light was only
"supposed"
to be on the '68 cars, but, knowing how Datsun put other year parts on when
they
didn't have the correct ones, that bumper could have been on other years.
Both 
of my '67.5's have '68 bumpers, but I have not owned these cars since new.
One
had been hit quite hard in the rear, and the other one shows no signs of
body filler
in the rear, so nobody knows!
