The PO of my car had just put a cheap paint job on the
car so he could sell it... even panted over the rust bubbles
on the fender wells...  I wish he would have just left it the
way it was prior to painting.  That would have motivated
me to strip it down and get it done right in the first place.
For now, it's one of those 50/50 jobs ( looks good going 50+
or from 50 feet away ).  And, it looks ok enough to push it
down on the priority list for $$.

If you think you re going to keep the car for the next 10 years
then it is worth getting the best prep and paint job you can
afford.  IMHO
