I think we gotta remember that the new Z concept car was built on the 240SX
platform ONLY because it was the only readily-available RWD chassis that
nissan has laying around. The problem with that is now all of us datsun/nissan
fans are going off about the platform (I REALLY doubt that the production Z
will be based on the 240 chassis and engine), but not really focusing on the
true meaning of the concept car: to introduce a new Z that nissan hopes will
show the world that it wants to regain the title of premiere japanese sports
car manufacturer. Will that happen? I really hope so!
As for a nice engine for the Z....the variable-valve, inline-6, NEO engine in
the new R34 Skyline would do well. Even in n/a trim, it can probably be tuned
to put out about 240-250hp. Offer the turbo version in a higher-level Z, and
I'm there!
