Hi Randall,
I don't blame you a bit but here is the deal. I have recently switched to this
high speed connection through earthlink and this is the first time I have
posted to a newsgroup such as this since then. What happens is that by
default, or default to me as my wife set up this account, that nasty message
gets sent out anytime anyone who has not emailed me before emails me for the
first time. It is a fairly misleading message also because what actually
happens is that your initial email gets put in a special folder that I then
can go to and hit a button to 'move to inbox and add to contact list' which I
immediately did for your email and some others from the list. So the next time
you email me you don't get that nast message and it comes directly to my inbox.
But the larger point I am making to you and anyone else out there nice enough
to take the time to write is to completely ignore that automatic reply and rest
assured that you will be added to my inbox without you having to do anything
other than ignore that arrogant message. In fact I will do my best to see if I
can edit that Earthlink provided message to make it more accurate and less
offensive.
I would be glad to know how others deal with this on newsgroups other than just
turning the darn thing off because I don't think our in house admin (the wife)
would be in favor of that.
Thanks very much for all the responses.
