This goes along with what I've been told, as well.  A few years ago I
was visiting a machine shop that was doing some engine work for me.
Another customer was showing the shop owner a set of heads for a 351W
Ford motor.  They had serpentine shaped etch marks around the water
jacket openings.  The owner said he had seen these marks before on
engine parts that had had Water Wetter in their coolant.  After the
customer left, I asked owner about this, because I had been considering
using this stuff, myself.  The owner claimed he had data from a radiator
vendor who had run tests on all of the coolant additives then on the
market, and not one of them reduced coolant temperature.  His
recommendation to me was to either use a regular coolant in the standard
50/50 mix or to use straight water with corrosion and lubrication
additives.  Straight water has the best heat transfer characteristics,
but since I don't have an overheating problem, I opted for the 50/50
mix.
